With You In Mind Décor (“we”, “us”, “our”, “WYIM”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information transparently and securely. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have with respect to your personal information. This policy applies to our website (wyim.ca), our booking and contact forms, SMS and email communications, and any services or products we provide in connection with backdrop rentals and event décor across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our practices, please contact us at hello@wyim.ca.
We collect information you provide directly to us and some information automatically.
When you interact with us, you may provide personal information such as:
Contact details: name, email address, phone number, billing address, event address.
Booking details: event date, venue address, selected backdrop, selected add-ons, number of guests, notes about the event.
Payment information: if you pay online, we use third-party payment processors (see Third-party services). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers—payment details are processed by our payment processors.
Communications: messages you send via email, contact forms, SMS, or chat; any information you provide during phone calls.
Marketing preferences: your preferences for receiving marketing communications and your opt-in/opt-out choices.
When you visit our site or interact with our services, we may automatically collect:
Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, entry/exit pages, timestamps, and other diagnostic data.
Cookies and tracking technologies: to enable site functionality, analytics, and advertising (see Cookies & tracking below).
Location data: approximate location inferred from IP address, and if you provide a delivery address as part of a booking, that address.
We do not intentionally collect special category personal data (such as health, religious beliefs, or political opinions). If you provide sensitive personal information in free-text fields, you should be aware that we may treat it as personal data subject to this Privacy Policy.
We use personal information for the following purposes:
Provide services and operate our business. To process your bookings, arrange delivery/installation/takedown, confirm event details, and provide customer support.

Service providers who help with booking systems, email delivery, marketing platforms, SMS providers, CRM systems, and analytics (e.g., Mailchimp, Twilio, Google Analytics) — they process data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Legal requirements — when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, property.
We require service providers to use data only for the purpose of providing services to us and to secure personal data appropriately.
We use cookies and similar technologies to provide and improve our services.
Strictly necessary cookies: required for basic website functions (e.g., session management).
Performance & analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors use our site (e.g., Google Analytics).
Functional cookies: remember user preferences and settings.
Advertising & targeting cookies: used to deliver relevant advertising (if applicable, third-party ad platforms).
You can control cookies via your browser settings. Note that blocking certain cookies may degrade site functionality.
SMS: By using our “Text Us” feature or providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages related to your booking or inquiries. Standard message rates may apply. If we use an SMS provider (e.g., Twilio), they will process your number in accordance with their policies. You may opt out of marketing SMS messages by replying STOP to our message. For transactional messages (booking confirmations) opting out may prevent us from delivering service updates.

Calls: We may call you to confirm booking details or to provide customer support. You can ask us not to call for marketing purposes.
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Typical retention periods include:
Booking and transaction records: retained for the period required for tax and accounting purposes (e.g., up to 7 years) or as required by law.
Customer account information and correspondence: retained for as long as necessary to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterward to respond to inquiries or claims.
Marketing preferences: retained until you opt out.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include TLS/SSL encryption on the website, limited access to information for employees and service providers, and regular security reviews.
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our services are not directed to children under 16 (or a higher age if required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable minimum age. Our site may contain links to third-party websites, plugins, or applications (e.g., Instagram, Facebook). These third parties have their own privacy policies and practices and are not covered by this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing personal information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy with a new effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (e.g., email notification).
